At DuGood, we are committed to serving our members before, during, and after the storm. Although our branch offices will close once a mandatory evacuation has been issued, a disaster recovery site will be set up to ensure that all services continue or are restored as quickly as possible. The credit union’s administration building is equipped with a natural gas powered generator that will assist us in serving you in the event of a disaster.
All direct deposits will be posted as they arrive once the disaster recovery site is established. Staff will be on hand to provide account balances, make transfers, wire funds, and check for deposits. DuGood will also utilize this website, dugood.org, text notifications, email, and other electronic delivery channels, as well as local media outlets, to keep members up to date on credit union operations. The credit union will reopen its offices as soon as it is safe to do so.
Providing You with Essential Services
The services listed here are essential to being prepared for a hurricane or other natural disaster. Be sure you have them all in place before an emergency arises. You can apply for a debit or credit card and download a direct deposit form within Online Banking. Plus, becoming familiar with DuGood’s local and nationwide free ATMs and branches will make sure you have convenient and free access to your money from anywhere.
During an evacuation, expenses add up quickly. Having a credit card is a great idea just in case you need it. Our credit cards have low introductory rates, no annual or over-the-limit fees, and a 25-day grace period. For every $2 spent, our MasterCard credit cards offer uChoose Rewards, which allows you to earn points and use them for appliances, electronics, cookware, jewelry, sporting goods, and more! Plus, cardholders are protected from identity theft like stolen cards, check fraud, investments, loans, and more with our free ID Theft Protection service.
During past hurricanes, members with debit cards had immediate access to their money. Debit cards can be used at any ATM for immediate cash or to make purchases wherever you see the MasterCard logo.
Our debit cards are some of the safest in Southeast Texas. Our FREE CardValet app allows you to receive live transaction alerts and turn your card on or off with just a few clicks. You’ll also enjoy around-the-clock support. For help, call the number on the back of your card or dial (409) 899-3430 and choose option 3.
To avoid declined debits, be sure to sign up for Courtesy Pay. Registering is easy. Simply call or come by the credit union. Courtesy Pay covers ATM transactions and purchases.
Plus, a DuGood debit card offers you valuable reward points every time you use your card as a credit transaction.
Pick up your DuGood Debit Card at a branch near you; no more waiting for your card and PIN to arrive in the mail! You’ll leave with your debit card and PIN in hand, which makes them not only fast and convenient, but also more secure.
DuGood does not charge ANY ATM fees regardless of where the transaction is conducted. However, a terminal surcharge fee may still apply at certain ATMs.
Most employers offer direct deposit to their employees. DuGood accepts all direct deposits and can even assist small businesses in providing this service. Documenting your property saves hassles
Explaining to an insurance adjuster what used to be sitting on your back porch or what’s no longer in your kitchen after the tree fell through it can be a daunting task. Be able to show proof. Take pictures or video outside of your home showing any carports, awnings, storage buildings, and swimming pools before the storm. Continue to the inside—show your appliances, furniture, electronics, clothing, and any other contents that may have to be replaced in the event your home is damaged or destroyed. Be sure to bring a camera with extra memory cards, film, and/or tapes to document any damage when you return home. These steps will provide valuable documentation, saving you time and any hassles when settling your claim with your insurance adjusters.
