DORMANT ACCOUNT NOTICE

The Texas unclaimed property law requires financial institutions, businesses, and government entities to report personal property they are holding that is considered abandoned or unclaimed.

What Does This Mean?

If your account has had no activity in the last year and you have not contacted the credit union, your account becomes dormant. If your account is dormant for three years, we are required by law to close your account and remit all funds to the State of Texas by June of the current year.

How Can You Avoid This?

If you would like to keep your funds and your account active, here are a few steps you can take:

  • Acknowledge your ownership of your accounts by phone or at the nearest branch.
  • Make a deposit or withdrawal.
  • Update your phone number, address, or email address by calling, emailing, or stopping by a branch.
