About Us

Our History

DuGood Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1962 by a group of plant workers under the name DuPont Beaumont Works Employees Federal Credit Union. As a not-for-profit cooperative, the credit union was formed with one purpose in mind – to serve its members. Today, that purpose is still at the heart of everything we do.

Over the years, the credit union grew, changed its name to DuPont Beaumont Federal Credit Union, and expanded to serve employees of other companies. By 2000, the credit union converted to a community charter, which opened membership to anyone who lives, works, or worships in Jefferson, Hardin, or Jasper counties.

In 2005, DuPont Beaumont FCU merged with Goodrich Community FCU to form DuPont Goodrich Federal Credit Union. Both credit unions were financially sound and shared the same philosophy and values regarding service to members and the community. The merger was a great fit for everyone adding Orange County to its field of membership and allowing increased capital, technology, services, branches, and ATM locations.

Becoming DuGood Federal Credit Union

In 2014, the credit union changed its name to DuGood. It started with members first! Several years ago, members began calling the credit union “DuGood” because of its commitment to giving back to the community.

Staff and board members both agreed that “DuGood” was a perfect fit, reflecting who the credit union is today and honoring its rich history.

DuGood Federal Credit Union is proud to offer several locations throughout Nederland, Beaumont, Lumberton, Port Neches, Vidor, Orange, Jasper, and a Student Financial Center located within West Brook Senior High School. The credit union is poised for future growth and is excited to be part of the Southeast Texas community.

Our credit union believes in the philosophy of “People Helping People” and supports the communities we serve by teaching financial literacy, hosting chamber events, raising funds for charitable organizations, and helping under-served, low-income families. DuGood is more than just our name… it’s our philosophy, our values and at the heart of everything we do!

Everyone is invited… If you live, work, or worship in Jefferson, Hardin, Orange, or Jasper County become a member today!
